Something Beautiful

I dump the jigsaw puzzle pieces onto the table.  The picture on the box shows me what these fragments of cardboard can become.  The photo is stunning in its beauty.  The pile on the table is anything but.  Yet, those fragments used to be whole and beautiful before they were reduced to that mess.

It’s up to me to put it all back together again.

As I looked at the project before me, my thoughts turned to this United States.  We used to be desirable as a place to live.  Yes, we had dark places.  But for the most part, God was considered to be a part of our lives.  We had faith in Him and the goodness of men.

It’s all gone wrong.

We have become a big pile of chaos and lies.  Violence has become the norm. Hypocrisy has taken over. Hate spews from the lips of once gentle, loving people. Our faith in God has disintegrated. The future looks grim.

How God must grieve.  Yet, He can put it all back together again.  He’s just waiting.  It’s up to us to ask for His help.

“For this people’s heart has grown callous; their ears are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back–and I would heal them.”  Matthew 13:15 (CSB)

  1. Wow, so accurate and aligns with my thoughts this past week. But God is good and provided me with some amazing scriptures to remember. Phil 4:7, 1. Peter 5:10, and our message today John 11. His plan is Good !

    1. Kari, thanks so much for your comments. And I really appreciate sharing the scriptures. God is good!

  2. Joy,
I so agree with what you shared. We need to draw close to the Lord, and spend more time in His Word to know how best to navigate and respond during these challenging times.

Thanks for again sharing from your heart.

  3. Joy, you’re spiritual insight spot on, as usual. I enjoy reading your posts, even when the truth hurts.
